Wadars Animal Rescue

“Thank you so much to Petplan Charitable Trust for the grant of £8,000 to Wadars Animal Rescue.

We are extremely grateful for the support and funds which will mean that we can continue our work rescuing and rehoming cats, dogs and other small pets.”

Billy Elliott, Wadars Senior Animal Rescue Officer.

Man hugs dog at wadars animal rescueBased in Worthing, Wadars is often the first port of call for local people concerned about the welfare of wildlife and companion animals. The charity has been active since 1969 and receives up to 50 calls a day to its wildlife helpline during the summer.

In the past they have used a combination of commercial kennels and catteries along with home fostering to care for rescued animals. With the opening of their own rehoming cattery, they can now care for cats on site. Longer term plans include an aviary, kennels and a dedicated wildlife unit.
