“Just to say a huge thank you for the welfare grant Summerfield Stables received in 2020.
“We have completed so much training since receiving the grant and we are now a BHS approved assessment centre, allowing our young people to complete so many British Horse Society exams onsite,” says one of the charity’s directors, Georgina Urwin. “We now run lessons till 8pm at night due to our arena lights and we have doubled the number of riders / volunteers.”
Based in Birmingham, Summerfield Stables is a community group that encourages local children and young people to understand and interact with horses. They aim to be as inclusive as possible and welcome children with both mental and physical disabilities. They also work with those who struggle to achieve in mainstream education.
