The news came after such a tough year for everyone and it will make a massive difference to our rescue and rehabilitation work at Bransby Horses. Our teams have continued to work tirelessly to provide the best possible care to all our equines throughout the flooding and repercussions of COVID-19 and this grant has lifted everyone’s spirits at a time when it was most needed.”
– Jo Snell, Bransby Horses CEO
Top of the charity’s wish list is a fixed metal crush which will be installed at the Animal Reception Centre (ARC). According to Rosanna Elliot Hart, Acting Head of External Welfare, rescue horses often display very challenging or unpredictable behaviour. The crush will allow safe treatment, sedation and veterinary checks to be carried out with minimal risk to horse or person.
“We really are delighted by this news,” says Roasanna. “The addition of a fixed metal crush at the ARC will mean we can work safely with our rescue equines in close proximity and provide easy access to any equine needing treatment.”
