Petplan Charitable Trust (PPCT) has been supporting Chilterns Dog Rescue since 2015.
Founded in 1963 and based in Hertfordshire, Chilterns Dog Rescue is a charity that rescues and rehomes dogs in the UK. Its mission is the care and protection of dogs in need, which could be for any number of reasons, such as homelessness, maltreatment or poor circumstances. They also work towards the prevention of cruelty to dogs.
The charity never puts a healthy dog down
The rescue centre takes in dogs and cares for them until they can find a suitable ‘forever home’ for them. They never put a healthy dog down, and provide extensive veterinary care and training for the dogs who need it. Through a carefully managed adoption process that includes post-adoption care and training advice, the charity ensures each and every dog has a successful new life in a loving new home.
We’ve awarded several grants to the charity over the years. The first was in 2015 for £5,000 towards neutering costs. This enabled the charity to spay 14 bitches and castrate 12 dogs. The following year, we awarded a grant of £4,500 to help the charity to purchase leads, a veterinary table and equipment. In 2017, we awarded a further grant of £5,000 to help towards veterinary costs for special cases.
